Meet Diane Bakst, CFRE
Founder & Principal
Before founding Diane Bakst Consulting, Diane spent nearly 20 years developing successful strategies for top non-profits. A skilled frontline fundraiser, she has raised millions through Annual Funds, Capital Campaigns and Planned Gifts, including transformational gifts exceeding $1 million.
Most recently, she led a team of fundraisers at the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ. As director of Women’s Philanthropy, she elevated and grew women’s giving – one of the most influential forces in American philanthropy today.
Diane has held both professional and volunteer leadership roles, including managing a 130-member Board and serving for nearly a decade as a trustee at a leading independent school. Known for creating meaningful connections with donors, she is proud to have helped hundreds of individuals and families realize their unique philanthropic visions.
As a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Diane upholds the highest standards of ethics and professionalism in fundraising.
An award-winning writer and journalist, Diane achieved early career success at Gannett, the New York Times, and other media outlets. With a reporter’s eye for detail, she crafts compelling messaging that motivates others to give, mobilize and join in causes that matter.
Born and raised in New England, Diane built her career in New York and New Jersey. She recently moved to the Los Angeles area to be closer to family and enjoy the famous California's sunshine. She now serves clients both in-person and remotely across the U.S.
